Month 11: Mother's Day, Gare's Birthday, 1st Haircut

HAPPY 11 MONTHS TO OUR LITTLE WILLIAM TODAY!

I CAN NOT believe I'm blogging about his very last month as a baby, and that in a short couple of weeks he will officially be a toddler! A part of me loves that he's much more interactive and fun now that he's older, but another part of me is a little nostalgic about him not being a little newborn. I have to say, I do love actually sleeping now...definitely don't mis that!

William was quite the little model for me this morning. I was able to get a couple of great shots in only a few of minutes!  :)

Out and About:

William loves his morning walks, and when I go jogging with him he kicks his legs extra high. I feel like he's saying, "faster, faster." The only downside to the morning outings is that if I want to go shopping (or just run errands in general) with him, he gets annoyed that we don't keep moving the way we do in the morning.

Aunt Celina got him this adorable tube. He now likes going through it, at first it was a little intimidating for him, but now he makes it shake hard when he crawls through it, since he goes pretty fast.

Still loving the mirrored buffet. I think it's a combo of him being able to stare at himself, and to be able to turn the knobs at the same time.

Peek-a-boo

Sporting his Dinosaur hoody for a chilly morning.

Cuddling with Lucky

He is seriously obsessed with this Dalmatian! We named him lucky, and if we want William to come to us, or to distract him from something he shouldn't be doing, all we need is this Dalmatian and he comes crawling towards it to snuggle. I caught him watching TV (While I was trying to stuff my face quickly, aka have breakfast) one morning.

Hanging out in the car

Loves this soft blanket and pets it while on his walks

Loves his playhouse!

Mothers Day celebration

For Mother's day we all went out to a family brunch at the bocci ball place in Livermore, and then went to my Uncle Juan Diego's house. William didn't take an afternoon nap because he's just not very good at napping outside of a crib or the car. Thankfully, he had many distractions to entertain his crabbiness.

Hanging with Uncle Jose Carlos, Auntie Andrea and Auntie Suz.

Having fun on the high chair. He was very into drinking from a kids water cup that my Uncle Juan Diego kept giving him, and here he is playing with he lid.

Snuggling with Uncle Jose Carlos :)

Garrett and I (actually Jose walked around to keep me company, so technically he tried too) to rock William to sleep in his stroller by strolling him around the empty area  next to our table. (Didn't work, by the way.)

Playing with  Jose Carlos :)

Grandpa Mohamed trying to get him to sleep too

Uncle Carlos playing with him

William, the bear hunter!

Chasing Uncle Carlos with his pool table stick

Haha! My Uncle Carlos is such a trooper and William adores him!

Wanting more attention...

We seriously were in the car less than 5 minutes, and William passed out so hard he started snoring! Ha

First Hair Cut

So.... this didn't really go as planned. I thought I would go ahead and snip a couple little strands here and there, before I knew it Garrett was saying, "OK, you need to stop, it's just getting worst." Oops. So of course I still think William is the cutest thing ever, but I'm sure when I take him to my hair stylist to "fix" his hair before his first birthday, she may not necessarily agree. Oh well, I'm trying to remind myself that it's just hair.

Wants to suck on his shoes soooo bad! I have to give it to him, he's doing a good job!

Garrett's Birthday/ Our New Baby For Our Baby

We actually kicked off the morning with Gare opening presents in bed, and this was the first time William was really into tearing off the wrapping paper. It was pretty cute, and I think it was a great start to Garrett's first official birthday as a Daddy.

William is hanging out and playing while we wait to go to Garrett's birthday lunch.

Ever since Garrett and I were dating, we  would always do a steak birthday dinner for him, since that's his favorite meal. So I usually try to find a cool new steak place to try, this year was a little different. We were originally going to go to the city, but decided extra sleep would be better :) So we ended up at Ruth's Chris in Walnut Creek, while William was being watched by my parents. We hung out and had a drink in the bar before dinner, and it was really nice to be out together. Our waitress brought Gare this amazing chocolate dessert (Of course I had some!) and as you can tell we hated it! ;)

Not many people can say they've received a car as a birthday present, but now Garrett is one of those people that can say he did!  Well...kind of. I'd been negotiating the price of our now new MDX, and it just so happened it worked out to come-in to the dealer and officially buy it on Garrett's birthday. We needed the extra space soooo badly. I would hit my head almost every-time I would put william in his car seat because out other car has a sporty backseat, so it's pretty narrow...not baby friendly in the least. The first time William sat in the new roomy backseat, he kept looking up, and around, and out the window. He didn't even cry which he always did when we put him in the other car, he was actually happy to be in the car seat. So, I think even Garrett will agree he had quite the birthday this year.

Ready, Set, EAT!

Between my Real Estate trainings in the Bay Area, and us not being home very often on the weekends, I decided it was a good time to get William his own lunch bag. He is slowly eating more finger foods and it's heart breaking to leave perfectly good food in out fridge that sometimes goes bad. I have to admit, Garrett and I had fun picking out his lunch box. The matching little kleen kanteen was too cute to not buy too. We're suckers. We're aware.

Our Pantry is now half baby food, half our food. Really the ratio is more in William's favor since he's eating some of the things we eat now. I didn't realize how much baby food was in there until Garrett pointed it out. This doesn't include our fridge, that has breast milk in the fridge and freezer, and homemade baby food in both as well. Oh man, Babies take over everything!
