It's crazy to think Baby W's first birthday is less than 2 months away! He has come such a long way since day one...in a wonderful way of course!
This months blanket is the back of the quilt Grandma Doris made for him. Although it's getting increasingly difficult to have him sit still on top of an actual blanket, he cooperated towards the end.
As soon as he sees the camera he gives me a big smile and closes his eyes tight because I think he knows the flash is coming, which explains some of the faces below. It's pretty cute and funny!
"Ok Mommy, I'll smile for you, but the flash hurts my eyes!"
- He's become an expert on crawling on all fours, although when he wants to go super fast he still does the army crawl every now and then.
-He's also mastered sitting up. He's been doing it for a while, but he now will crawl to what he wants and sits up and plays with things..it's so cute!
-Finally, not only is he pulling up on whatever is available, but he freely "cruises" any piece of furniture that's available to him- mostly leather couches and big chairs. Thankfully, he has figured out how to get from standing to crawling position, or just getting back on the floor again, on his own now versus just letting go! Regardless, I've now had to move our island barstools to a different area since he pulled one down with him the other day! I'm seriously contemplating converting our living room into his play-area so that we at least have our family room available as mostly an adult space. The dreaded thought is coming to my mind more often...we need a bigger house! Ugh. I think we're good until baby #2 comes along ;)
- Starting to make more "talking-like" noises (Loudly, and it kind of sounds like yelling) more and more often.
- Is on tooth #7 & #8- poor guy, he can't catch a break from these coming in. I can't wait for him to have all his teeth already!
- The weather has been so gorgeous lately, that we now go on morning Runs three times a week, and morning walks 2-3 times a week. He loves being in his stroller and is always kicking his feet, and/or crossing his legs, as he chews on his toy, and enjoys the scenery. :)
Hanging out on the couch in the bay area
Garrett was gone on a work trip for a week so we went back to the bay area and hung out those days.
Out to Crepes with family, chewing on his favorite banana.
He doesn't love sitting in public highchairs, but he'll hang in there for a while.
Hanging out at Sycamore Park, with some sandwiches and Family Friends.
Suz captured William being a little snuggle bunny in the pics below. He loved hanging out on these swings, and had a very chatty baby girl, his same age, on the baby swing next to him that wouldn't stop chatting (aka baby yelling). He was definitely intrigued. I guess girls talk way more than boys right from the get-go :)
Having a good time with the "Mohamed's." He was extra friendly with Mohamed Elzarka, because I think he maybe he saw the mustache and thought it was my Uncle Carlos who he sees often. Haha, he loves facial hair!
Hanging with Auntie Susi
Out to a Country Club lunch with Family
William with his Aunt/ Godmother Rosa Maria
William and Auntie Andrea cheesing it for the camera :)
Floor Fun at Grandma and Grandpa's
He started pulling up last month, but he quickly got the hang of it and started pulling up on everything ALL THE TIME. The problem was that he didn't know how to get down. He would simply let go. Thankfully, he now knows how to safely get back on the floor...for the most part.
Food time at Grandma and Granda's house.
Liking his new high chair that I bought him to keep at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Although, the pic's you saw earlier indicate he liked the box it came in a whole lot better!
Continues to love to crawl around tight spaces, which includes the kitchen nook area.
Chewing on it..of course
Helping me Sort the Mail??
Hanging out after having his baby food dinner "al fresco" at a Walnut Creek Starbucks.
Favorite View in the Car
Love looking at him playing with his feet in the car. I usually take off his socks after our last errand if it's warm outside and we're headed home and he LOVES it! Although now that he's officially in his larger chair, I'm not sure that he can reach as easily :(
Playing Around at Home:
Rocking the Giants Gear
Loves his playhouse and going in and out of the window, versus the door or slide.
Has a bit of an obsession with wheels, so I have to be quick when packing a suitcase or unfolding his stroller to go out side. He gets super excited and crawls really quickly towards any set of wheels as soon as he sees them.
His New Furry Friend That He's Obsessed With...Lucky the Dalmatian.
It's a long story on how I ended up buying this stuffed animal for William, but let's just say it was my first, "I'm a sucker for whatever my child wants at the Disney store purchase." Oh boy. At least it's a toy he really loves. Here he is cruising around costco with it, right after I bought it for him. :)
Not super excited about this hat.
Looking cute during lunch time at home.
UOP Baby Play date
We have two other couple friends who also met at UOP, got married and have had babies recently! We all had them within the last year, so it was fun to get together for a little BBQ at Dave and Monica's house. Baby Olivia is the youngest, she is 4 months here, Baby Jonas is only 6 weeks younger than William and is about 7 months here, and William is 9 months. William is still obsessed with Peaches, their little dog. We had to keep a close eye on him, so he would hurt her. I think he wants to cuddle with it, the way he does with the Lucky (the stuffed Dalmatian) at home, and Peaches wasn't down for that!
Stands up on his crib before he naps, and then goes back to sleep.
Sleeping with his little bottom up in the air.
Cuddling with Mr. Raccoon in the pack-n-play.

Mirror, Mirror...
William likes his reflection and gives it kisses..happy he's starting off with a healthy self- esteem :) I agree with him, he's adorable!
He is seriously obsessed with the window!

Playing with kitchen items that he likes, and soothe his gums.
More Fun with Boxes
Baby Jail...terrible, I know.
Hates these sunglasses, although he stopped when they got to the top of his head..very Euro of him. HA
My Birthday
I have to say I feel very spoiled! Garrett started celebrating my birthday on Friday which was 3 days early. Alissa, was nice enough to babysit William for us, and we went to dinner alone for the first time in a LONG time. When we leave him with my parents we usually meet up with friends, or go out to celebrate someone's birthday or something. This was the first time it was just us...it was nice!
Then on Saturday, Garrett surprised me with a prissy cake from my favorite bakery in Alamo. My Mom had family over, so we all got to eat yummy cake together. The festivities went on through Monday, my actual birthday and like I said, I feel very spoiled! :)
I wish I could write my name like that! Pretty.
Easter Picnic
I originally bought the play gate for the park, so he could do his thing on the quilt and hang out, however we forgot it home. Wah...Wahhh. So instead we hung out with him. He ended up throwing up, long story, but he still has this weird thing towards textured foods. So that made him gag and he threw up the milk ha had not long ago. So there was an outfit change. Luckily, it was just as cute as the first outfit. The first outfit was from my Parents, and the second Susi bought for him. :)
Exploring grass
It was cute to see that he didn't want to get off the quilt. He slowly would go towards the grass to see what it was and to feel it. He didn't love it, but it didn't stop him from eventually wanting to wander off the blanket.
Here he is hanging with his Daddy
Hanging With Auntie Emman :)
Being hugged by Auntie Celina, and then some little family pictures my Mom took.
Playing with Henry the Doggie
Baby W wasn't able to nap AT ALL while we were at the park! He was up for 6-7 hours straight, which is insane for him. (He loves his morning and afternoon naps..and so does his Mommy! :) So on our way home he passed out before even hitting the freeway. He was exhausted! The next day for my official birthday he gifted me two presents as well...a three hour nap in the morning and a two hour nap in the afternoon, and in between a very happy, lovey baby to hang out with. He knew just what Mommy wanted! :)
Things I wish another Mommy had told me...
1. Babies r us has their own baby food brand, it's organic and a decent price for both pounches and jars. Food variety is a little limited, but it you mix in some homemade food or other brands it's not bad at all.
2. Babies R Us also seems to always have some sort of sale on their baby food, and has a great selection of Plum Organics, Earth's Best and Ella's Kitchen...William favorites!
3. This teething banana is amazing! Amazon and Buy Buy baby carry it and I suggest buying two, William already lost one. This and Sophie have been helpful with his teething, although this one is a little more portable and he really loves the silicone bristles on his gums...totally worth the money!
4. I was texting with a friend about making baby food and was telling her about this book I bought and how I wish I would have bought it when William was younger, but it's pretty basic and I like that it sorts the recipes by appropriate months, "100 best baby food purees."
