Month 9: Baptism, Pulling Up, Allergy Panel

William turned 9 months on Friday March 21st, which was a couple weeks ago! Eeek!

I am a very late Mommy blogger on this post and apologize! It actually was fully done about a week late, then my computer crashed, and blogger didn't save the post - I hit save..I promise! Then, as most of you know, my grandfather passed away. So it's been a bit hectic, but here is where I originally started the post...hope you enjoy:)

The Friday he turned 9 months, he also had his 9 month pediatrician appointment, we were packing to get to the bay area before traffic hit to make a dinner party my Mom was throwing- needless to say it was busy. We still had family visiting from Mexico, so the weekend was pretty full with events, which translates into no time to blog! Whew!

Here's what Month 9 in our Little Man's life looked like:

9 Month birthday pic's:

Gone are the days where I could simply put the stickers back onto the sheet they came from after taking his pictures. The last couple of months he's been grabbing, sucking, chewing and ripping the poor things. Here's what they look like after, I'm sure it's going to continue to get worst...ha.

Couple days stay in Bay Area
Garrett had to travel for work, so William and I went to my parents' house and hung out for a couple of days. William especially enjoys all the hard-surfaced floors at their house, and his favorite in-house activity is to chase a collection of little Einstein balls I bought him across the family room and kitchen. Between that and hanging out at the park, and getting a whole lot of attention, he is a happy camper at Grandma and Grandpa's house :)

Results of Allergy panel
After our last pediatrician appointment, William's doctor decided to order a blood panel to see exactly what foods he's allergic to. His weight percentile has dropped a little, so she wanted me to start giving him all these foods (ie. yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.) that contain lactose. I had to keep calm and nicely remind her that he had horrible allergic reactions to cow-milk based formula....hello!!!???? Guess she didn't check his chart before she walked in the room??

So the blood panel came back with quite a few allergies. Not only is he allergic to cow milk protein (the results show it's not severe, but still there) he also tested positive to quite a few other things- the two biggest being egg whites and peanuts, along with other tree nuts :( The silver lining is that even though he tested positive for some other foods, they didn't come back as "super" highly allergic, and that included the milk. So I pray that our little guy will be part of the 50% of babies who outgrow most allergies by 1 year of age. The pediatrician basically said to give him what he wants, except no eggs and no nuts since those could be really dangerous to him. Which I kind of wanted to be like, "Well, duh!" You're not supposed to give those things until babies are over 1 year of age anyway. (I was feeling a little feisty, I guess.) Regardless, I will probably wait until well after his first birthday, probably a couple of years after, to even try to feed him either of those two foods- it's just not worth it. Allergies are a scary thing!

My Mom was adamant about taking this picture, and wouldn't put the camera down until I somewhat smiled, so I had to give in. Poor Willaim :( I think she wanted to capture that it went better than we expected, although the pic doesn't really reflect that. Oh well.

We took William to the Nordstrom Cafe for lunch to make him feel better, or to at least make ourselves feel better after his blood draw :) He loved chewing on the straw, and I feed him a little bit of water through it too. He liked it.

Silly Faces!

Going out for an afternoon walk:

He's been sitting like this for a while, but wanted to capture some pic's of him sitting like a "big boy" in his stroller. No more baby carrier, I think he's way more comfy!

It was a little windy on one of our afternoon walks, so we decided to sit on the lawn in the park in front of our house and watch the little boys and girls that were out there practicing different sports. Turns out William loves to people watch just as much as I do! They were playing football, baseball, and we even saw some parents hanging our with their son practicing some golf swings. It was more fun than I expected. Every now and then, Baby W would look over at me just to make sure I was still there, and then go back to watching the kids run around..so cute :)

Baptism:
It's well over-due, but I pulled William's baptism together super last minute and I'm just glad it's done! The other baby that was being baptized was maybe a month old, so our baby was a little baby Godzilla next to him. William was squirmy, wanted to go crawl, and was borderline wanting to talk and cry at the same time. The other baby was basically in a sleep coma the whole time. Definitely part of the perk to doing it sooner!

Here are some pic's of William in his outfit (Courtesy of my Grandmother who bought this at a beautiful baby store in Guadalajara- who else would buy his a silk onsie? I LOVE IT!) that he wore under his baptismal robe, which is the same robe both my Mom and I were baptized in.

We were also lucky to have a family relative who was randomly in town, who is actually a professional photographer in Mexico. He was kind enough to take many of the pictures below.

Rich and Doris stayed with us a couple of days after the baptism and got to spend some time with William :)

I love these pictures because it captures how desperately William wants the camera when you're trying to take the picture...it's a challenge sometimes.

Pulling himself up and Sitting up on his own
This has been the first month William has begun to physically advance towards actually walking. Here are some pics of him pulling himself up on furniture, people and toys. He has the "pulling-up" motion down, he just hasn't figured out how to "cruise" the furniture. He gets up and hasn't officially figured out how to get back down. Usually he just lets go, which is pretty scary. I have basically stopped being able to get much done during the day since I'm right behind him most of the time, ready to catch him when he lets go.  He's also getting better at sitting up on his own from a crawling position.

These Pic's are him crawling all over me and trying to grab my face, hair, neck...anything he can reach! Some of my favorite moments :)

Back to the physical stuff

So proud of himself for figuring out the steps...scary!

Pulling himself up on my legs

Playtime:

He still tries to squeeze through some small little areas, and I think that he thinks he's smaller than he actually is and tries to squeeze into small places he used to easily fit into

Videos filmed during month 9:

Chatting and chasing Football

Chatting (aka yelling) with Auntie Susie

This is my favorite: Wants to sleep..no dance...no sleep...no dance???

Trying on Baptism outfit

Practicing sitting up??

Giggles on Jumparro with Suz
