Month 12-14: 1st birthday photo shoot (Part 1 of 2)

Month 12-14: (Part 1 of 2)

Well, it's official...I am not the best at blogging. Ha. To my defense we had THE SLOWEST internet connection ever, and have now switched providers. Yay! So it only took me 10 minutes to upload all these pics today versus 4 days, like before. I'm not even exaggerating....sad, I know. I probably will be taking breaks here and there from blogging though. I want to focus more time into making William some photo books he can physically see. If anyone knows of a way to conveniently transfer my blog into a photo book, that would be amazing! Otherwise I'm looking at some serious cutting and pasting!

So I will continue to post but not send out e-mails. If you'd like to know when I post, be sure to subscribe to the blog and it will automatically let you know. you;re also welcome to check in periodically. :)

These last couple months....

Where to begin?? So much has happened in the last 2 and a half months. William is now walking! He celebrated a first birthday, had his first beach vacay, and so much more. I'm going to do a 2 part blog for this one so it's not too overwhelming.

Costco might be William's favorite "Shopping cart place." People are usually really friendly towards him, and stop to tell him how cute he is and just chat in general. Usually it's old people, or other moms. Of course he loves the attention, smiles and waves back.

Also below, are some pics of him enjoying the extra room in the new SUV. He likes to put his bare feet up on the leather. He didn't used to do that in our other car.

My Mom strolling him in her backyard. William is a happy camper in his stroller.

He went through a phase where he was obsessed with his little play house. I usually let him help me "sort" through the mail, and he was loving this Pottery Barn kids catalogue and took it in the playhouse with him, which I thought was really cute.

Figured out how to climb on the couch, but overall he's pretty good about staying off of it.

His "I'm obsessed with the kitchen blinds" phase. Thank goodness that's over! Hopefully, that's a one- time phase.

Hanging with Daddy in bed on a Saturday morning. We've come such a long way from our sleepless nights, where he would be cuddled up between us at 3 am.

Picnic with some family and family friends at the Danville Sycamore park.

My Uncle Carlos sent me this pic. I was carrying so much stuff and he thought it was funny. I'm even carrying the stroller. I guess other Mom's can relate though...ha

Hanging outside with his water table and playing with Luke and Jake :)

More attempts at the couch...

William's new nemesis: The vacuum. I long for the days when he used to love this thing. Now I have to vacuum while he's sleeping. Oh well.

Smiley faces

Loves doing this with different toys or kitchen tools.

Mommy Play Date

The Modesto Mommy group had a play-date at the Ripon park, and I was excited to finally be able to go to one of their events. Usually they're in Modesto, and with William's nap schedule, it's tough to make any of those events since it's about a 20-25 minute drive to get to where they meet. Long story short, the place was packed and I was unable to differentiate between who was with the mommy group, and who was with the three other day camps that were there. William needed to have lunch, so I couldn't exactly go mingle. I didn't meet one single mom..oh well. William still had a great time, and the Ripon Mom group has reached out to me too. So that may be a better fit, since it's closer.

Yanking off his hat!

Checking out the other kids

My Dad brings home some fresh baguettes, cheese, and veggies to make egg sandwiches on the weekends we go stay the night. William loves the baguette!

Shopping for some nice shoes for William, and the lady was nice enough to give him a balloon that he loved!

More and more mobile at night. He loves sticking his feet and hands through the rails.

"Where did you say this rug was made??" Not sure if he approves or not ;)

Liking the homemade spaghetti and meatballs.

Trying to grab his mickey cups that holds his spoons.

Showing off his skillz

Trying to nap in my old room, at my parents' place. I quickly learned not to put the crib by furniture. The monitor showed that he was taking forever to fall asleep, and when I came to check on him, I saw that he opened a drawer and took a bunch of socks out! I then moved him..

First Haircut

W had his haircut at a cute kids place in Danville. He even made a friend while he was waiting for his turn. Thankfully Suz came with us. He was doing fine until the lady cutting his hair had to turn on the machine to trim the hair on the back of his head. I think he related it to the vacuum, so it freaked him out :( Overall, it wasn't a terrible first experience, but hopefully he overcomes his fear of the noise soon.

 Hanging with Daddy

Week long visit with Grandparents :)

Grandma Doris and Grandpa Rich  came to visit a week before William's first birthday. He loved the company and had a great time playing with them.

They also gave him one of his birthday present a little early and he LOVED it!

Hanging in the car before Garrett's softball game. He loved pulling Rich's hair and made a game out of it which I quickly discouraged, but Rich thought it was funny, so William kept playing. They had a good time :)

Playing with his highchair seat

His favorite pose while strolling around Target.

1 Year Pics

William had his "one-year-old" photo shoot, with our amazing photographer Janelle. She did such a wonderful job! This went much better than the first two photo sessions.  (Newborn shoot: Garrett got peed on. Christmas shoot: William had his first melt down and gave only one smile.) This time I was better equipped with knowing how to keep him happy, and as a result we got much more smiles. He wasn't loving the pics that required him to be in the cute little creek though. That's probably my fault, since I explained to Janelle that he is mostly an "indoor baby."

His lovey, Mr. Raccoon.
