The day after his 3 month birthday, he flipped twice from laying on his tummy to flipping to his back at my parents' house, but hasn't done it since. So I haven't been able to get it on video.Ugh.
This video was taken two weeks after the one above, that's how long it took him to flip again....I have yet to capture it on camera :(
Still fighting a bit of spit up, could be acid reflux??
William woke up for an early morning feeding and fell back asleep, but as soon as I would put him down he would cry in pain. I would pick him up and he would fall asleep again. So I grabbed the Boppy and nestled him between Garrett and I, so he could sleep at an angle. He slept for a couple of hours like this, and I was able to go back to sleep too! :) I think he just had to remain upright to not feel that pain.
Backyard Picnic
Lately, the weather has finally been in the high 70's- 80's! So today, I thought William and I could picnic in shade of our backyard. He actually really liked being out there. It was a little bright, but not enough where it really bothered him, he just wanted to look around and play. Below are a couple of pictures and then a short video.
Enjoying the jungle gym to the max!
The little guy is loving whopping and hitting all the little things the jungle mat has to offer. Before he would just stare at them, so I guess it's serving its purpose by helping with hand eye coordination:)
William's First Amusement Park!
This past Saturday, Frito Lay had their family picnic at Six Flags. There aren't many pictures below because he was practically asleep the whole time. The weather was much warmer than we were anticipating, so we didn't really stay very long.
I did however, take a picture of him and Garrett passed out afterwards- play time on the floor:)
Lately, William really likes to wiggle around until he is on his side. He has now fallen asleep twice on his side while playing with us on his jungle gym.
First Night in Crib
Last night, September 30th, was the first official night he slept in the nursery, and not next to me in his bassinet. I have to say, he had a great time with all the extra room. I on the other hand, did not do so well with him being so far away. I was basically cuddling with the baby monitor all night- God help me when he leaves for college!
Trying to put things in his mouth...possibly teething???
The video right below is of the first time he wanted to put something in his mouth, and the one right below that is one after practicing a bit more.
Tummy time on the boppy
He recently outgrew the "newborn insert" from his Mamaroo...tear. So I now put a really soft blanket under him and he seems to like it :)
Hanging with the Aragon Family:
The Aragon's invited us over for brunch to check out their beautiful new home, and William got some fun play time in with everyone. Some halloween costumes had just arrived, and the Jake and Luke were playing with the eye masks...so cute!
I texted Alissa later that day because William took a super long nap after our visit- he was exhausted from all the fun.
William has never had this much company during tummy time, he loved it!
Our dilemma for about a week now:
Remember how William started flipping earlier this month and just stopped??? Well, those were the good 'ol days. Now he hates being on his back, and as soon as we lay him down, he flips to his tummy. So we are no longer swaddling him.
At first, I didn't think much of it when he flipped once or twice- I thought it would stop. So I continued with the swaddle because he still seems to like to fall asleep that way. But by the picture below, I think you understand why we are no longer swaddling. Scary!
Hopefully he learns how to flip himself back onto his back again so he stops waking us up every other minute at night for help...ugh

My bed on the floor. When he naps I "try" to nap, but mostly it's so I can get to him quicker and make sure he's breathing when he flips,.

Of course he sleeps on me later in the morning because he is so exhausted from waking us up all night.

Driving back home from the Bay Area this weekend:
Getting better with his hand- eye coordination. He looks like such a big boy here :)
Happy 4 months to William today!
This beautiful blanket was knit especially for William from Abella, who was one of my pseudo Grandmothers, as well as one of my favorite people growing up :)
Below: Video of William flipping over :)

Can you please just write down everything you've done for the past 4 months... It amazes me how wonderful he is - of course with such great parents I'm not surprised - I just need every trick and secret you have;)
ReplyDeleteHaha Nat, thanks! I'm sure your little one will be wonderful too. Just like his/her Mommy :)
