Month 23 and 37 Weeks pregnant!
This month W has started to become a bit more vocal! He makes many animal sounds, his favorite phrase is "WHAT'S THAT???!!" Especially when we're in the car and he sees cars, balloons, wheels... Really any moving mode of transportation or moving object. Then when I tell him what it is he says bye to it. He keeps me pretty entertained, especially while driving!
Checking in with Allergies:
Coconut-As of about two months ago we slowly starting testing W on coconut products by starting with coconut yogurt and we found out he is no longer allergic to coconuts! YAYYYY!!! That's a big deal because now I can give him coconut milk, coconut yogurt and coconut ice cream! The milk in particular is fattier, so it's nice to be able to give him something a bit creamier to drink.
Almonds- I also checked to see how he did with almonds by slowly mixing in small amounts of almond butter to his sunflower butter and jelly sandwiches. He seemed to overall do fine with them too, but has had some tummy aches lately and I stopped giving him too much of it, just to be on the safe side. The silver lining though, is that he can have almonds and not have a life- threatening reaction to it. I'll take that as a win!
Cheese- once I was done experimenting with the almonds I moved onto cheese. I've been slowly adding some mozzarella to his bean tacos here and there, and so far so good! I haven't been able to make him a straight up quesadilla, or get him to eat string cheese or anything, so I have to slowly keep increasing his amounts and observing him for hives, etc. I'm hoping cheese is ok though- that would be a game changer!
Cows Milk- is still a no-go. He can't even have any of my cow-milk based Greek yogurt since hives will appear pretty quickly. I'm also holding off on trying any eggs or peanuts for a bit too. Just because eggs were what he tested highest against, and peanuts are known to cause such a violent reaction to those that are allergic, that I better try other things first. Wish us luck!
Toddler Dining:
We have a couple of new favorite restaurants in Bakersfield, and by favorite I mean the most toddler friendly! One of them is Pizza Rev which is next door to other restaurants, so we can order this for W and then eat something else ourselves- if we want to. This place is pretty awesome though. They custom order everyone's mini pizzas, and they're pretty trendy with their ingredients. W had a kids pizza with vegan cheese and pepperoni on whole wheat crust- he was a fan and only left a little sliver :)
Sneak Peek at Stella's Nursery:
It won't officially be done for a while, since she'll be in her bassinet next to our bed for the first couple of months, but it's pretty ready for her to move-in :)
It was apparently very bright inside the house this day...

William's Room:
William also got his "big boy" bed, but we are slowly making that change for him. I got him some cool sheets with cars all over them and we now read bedtime stories to him on the bed, since the glider is now in the baby's room.
It's tough though, because he really loves his crib. We decided it will go to Stella when he is ready to give it up. I'm anti-forcing him into it, so I guess there potentially will be a second crib if we need it? Garrett's co-worker told us he has an extra one we can borrow if we need it. So that's comforting.
Some of his favorites: Mickey car and Lucky
Kathy and MacKenzie Visit!
Kathy and MacKenzie took a road trip to L.A and San Diego, and we were lucky to be their first stop! Originally, Kathy's husband Jeremy was going to be with them, but work got crazy for him and they made it into a girls road trip! Garrett happened to be out of town that night for work, so Kathy and I had some quality girl time, and enjoyed watching our two little ones run around together. William was in awe of many things MacKenzie did, but I think in particular with her vocab. She is such a great little talker and can even fully sing the ABC's! They were both so fun to have around, and I have to confess I didn't want them to leave! I don't think W did either. The day after they left, he kept going into the guest room to see if they were in there :( Luckily, they also made time to stop by on their way back to the Bay Area, along with our friend Kristin who met up with them in SD, it was so fun having some friends over in the new house!!
Hanging with MacKenzie and Kathy at dinner. We got a booth at a yummy Mexican place and shared our fajitas with our "babies.":)
MacKenzie shared Williams love for these fountains after dinner.
M saying "cheeesseee!" W hasn't quite gotten it down, so now he says "teeesee!" :)
M channeling Doc McStuffins and W being a good patient :)
Cheerio buddies
Their favorite book to dance and sing to together. Kathy and I took turns since it got a bit painful after the 6th time or so.
Chipotle Love
William's favorite restaurant, chipotle. I have to say, Garrett and I really like taking him out to eat at the one by our house since we can all eat outdoors and not be self conscious about him yelling, "What's that?!" about every single car and bird that goes by. W loves the chips and guacamole and sometimes his chicken taco, but mostly he loves watching all the cars drive by and the birds hanging in the lawn area next to us.
Saying good bye, officially. W had many firsts: first girl he held hands with and first kiss- on the cheek of course!
Changes Ahead
Somehow reading him books about the upcoming changes makes me feel more at ease about them happening?

Last couple projects....maybe??
Garrett doing some nesting, or maybe just being nice and making my nesting wishes come true. Here he is spray painting the mini chandelier from Stella's room from black to white.
Choo-Choo Skirt
William liked this pregnancy skirt and thought it would be fun to play choo-choo train with it. Except he would pull/ hold on to my skirt really tightly so I had to hold it skirt up. Yikes!
