Pretty in Pink Baby Shower
My Mom and Susi planned a truly beautiful baby shower for the baby and I. I felt really touched by so many people's efforts to make the event, especially because we live further away now. Thankfully, I wasn't having an emotional pregnancy hormone day, and was able to stay collected and calm through the entire celebration. Yay!
Aunts, family friends and cousins!
Grandma's Pita and Doris, and some ladies that have known me since I was a little girl.
More close family members...there are a lot. My Grandma (Mama Rosita) looking glam, as always.
Good friends from high school, college and beyond :)
Pic's with the Truderung side of the family.
Delicious lunch :)
Dessert table
Pics with my Mom and Suz, and also with My Aunt Rosa Maria and Aunt Loli.
William came out to help with the opening of presents, he got quite a few himself as well which was really sweet of Celina, his Grandma's and Alissa.
My Uncles came over after the shower was over. William missed the cuddles from his Uncle (and Godfather, Carlos :)
Trail Walk
The next day some of us went for a walk on my favorite trail. Unfortunately, my endurance has changed just a tad since I was last on it, but it was still nice to get out.
Date Night
We took advantage of having the best babysitters (family!) and went out for a date night at Ruth's Chris. Our waitress felt bad for offering me wine (she claimed that I hid my bump very well- I was wearing all black, so maybe I'll believe her ;) So she brought us a done up creme brulee to make it up to us. Still my favorite creme brulee anywhere! Delish!
Clean-up time after the shower, and William was determined to try and reach what he thought were bouncy balls!
Shopping for Stella's bedroom.
Hanging at the Barnes in Noble in Walnut Creek. They had an awesome train area that William DID NOT want to leave.
Haircut #....??? His hair grows so fast!
Big Boy haircut and my favorite kid's haircut place in Danville. William loves it too, since you can see below they have some more trains and cars.
Playing with Loli :)
Tony's Wedding
Our good friend Tony got married the weekend after my shower. He and his now wife looked really great all dressed up!
Garrett texted me this picture with the caption, "Me and Prince Ali." :)
Selfie with Mommy, and reading one of his favorite Dr. Sues books.
Gym Time!
Home projects!
Taped up this fireplace to paint over the brassy lines. I bought some black high heat paint that I read about and couldn't wait for it to finally be gone! This type of metal drives me (and my pregnancy nesting) crazy! There's is a lot we've already gotten rid of, but a lot still left. I guess it was really in when the house was built in the late 90's.
BEFORE- LIVING ROOM AREA
AFTER- so much better!
We also did the fireplace in our master bedroom- I just forgot to take a before pic. These are big changes (especially in person) for $13 can of paint! Makes me happy!
Back in So- Cal
Garrett actually took a day off on Friday and we drove to L.A to go pick-up Suz from UCLA and then headed to O.C to stay the night at Jose and Lila's new place. We met up with Jose around lunch time, while William napped at their place. We then we headed to Newport to hang out, while Jose and Lila finished up their friday work day.
Fashion Island
Back to enjoying the Koi pond :)
Bedtime came, and Barkley (Lila's parents' little yorkie) was visiting too. I think Barkley loved William best when he was in his pac n play. He would even come up and lick the netting. William loved it :) Visiting people with dogs is awesome, and I love seeing William chasing dogs around, but unfortunately for Garrett and William, I'm still very anti getting a dog. I'm sure I'll change my mind in a couple of years...maybe.
Finally Here!
Arriving in Disneyland! My pregnancy hormones were very frustrated about not finding the stupid parking garage quickly, but once we got there things were great. Jose Carlos even came with us, since Lila had a flight to Chicago for work later that day :)
Finally on the tram to the park entrance :)
Kissy faces with Auntie Suz
I have to say, it was beyond nice to have family come to Disney with us. Thanks to Jose Carlos and Susi, we have way more pics, (Jose not only took a bunch of pics, but he also took some awesome videos and sent them to us- so amazing!) and as you can see below my very pregnant self got lots of help carrying William's essentials around, pushing the stroller and other basic things that I have a hard time doing now. They're the best and I'm so grateful!!!
Stopped for a quick breakfast at La Brea. William is happy as long as there's bacon around!
Walking towards the park. Thankfully, he kept his hat on since it was pretty sunny. The weather was actually perfect!
Pic of all of us in front of the newly re-done castle. I think they're prepping it for the 60 year anniversary this year. It looked very "Frozen-ish" with ice and jewels up close.
Carrousel time!
Winnie the Pooh Ride
Heading towards the newly opened and re-done Winnie the Pooh ride. Jose is leading the way with William :)
The ride kind of scared him. He didn't cry or anything, it takes a lot for him to cry, but he would just sit there and close his little eyes shut pretty tight. Poor guy!
On the way out we saw Tigger and William went nuts! He was super excited to see him, and we took a really cute video capturing it.
Waiting in line at the Jungle Cruise
William really liked this one. He loved checking out the boats and pointing at the animals. It was our longest wait of the day, but still wasn't too bad- about 25 minutes.
Naptime
William took his afternoon nap on schedule, and we had lunch and drinks in California Adventure. Unfortunately, he does NOT LOVE taking naps anywhere besides his crib, and only slept 45 minutes- usually he naps 2-3 hours. So he was a little cranky when he woke up.
Jose is trying to cheer him up..
Checking out the side of Cars Land.
Disney Jr LIVE!
William really liked this show the first time, so we went back again. This time, I couldn't sit on the ground with everyone the way I did two months ago. So I had to sit all the way in the back on a bench, but thankfully Jose took some cute pics :)
William seemed to want to get close to Goofy, but changed his mind last minute and lost it!
Garrett taking advantage of the photo opp! Ha
In line to get on the main Disneyland train! William is pretty obsessed with trains still, so he was excited about this one.
31 Week Baby Bump Pic!
Someone had a MASSIVE blow out diaper. Thankfully, Susi was there to help me clean up- I really don't know what I would have done without her! William pooped so much it went all the way into his Crocs! Which were the perfect shoes for him to be wearing! Ew
Jose had to head out a little earlier than we did. It's always fun seeing him and spending some time together. One of the perks to being in Bakersfield is that we've been able to see more of him and Lila :)
Hanging out on the monorail and having dinner in tomorrow land.
Watching the Mickey and Friends Parade!
Going on Small World
W was interested at first, and then got scared and again, didn't cry, but covered his eyes for most of it. Although he was covering his eyes in a way where there were big holes, and he could still see through his fingers a little bit, ha. Towards the end, he completely lowered his hands and looked around more.
Evening Time at Disney
I think W may actually have some seasonal allergies to something in Disneyland, because his eyes were watery and he kept rubbing his nose, but he didn't have a fever this time around the way he did last time.
He loved shouting and pointing at all the lights. Especially the balloons with lights in them, and the light-flashing bubble machines. He found some ducks to check out too and enjoyed running around main street and making people almost run into him. Ha
Walking back to our car in the parking garage...
This is what a toddler sleeping "hard" looks like. He ALWAYS wakes up when we take him out of the car and he's sleeping. This time, not only did he not wake up when we took him out of the car, but he also slept all the way up to our hotel room, and while I was changing him on the bed. He was OUT!
Downtown Disney
The next day we went to downtown disney for breakfast and shopping. We actually met up with our friends Tim and Lauren, and their two boys Cooper and Collin. Tim and Lauren used to work at frito in Modesto, and now live in the area. We have known them for a really long time, we actually got married a week apart and attended each others weddings :) I totally forgot to take pictures, but we had a great time!
Playing with his new cars..
Omar and the Rest of the Immediate Fam Visit Bakersfield
Omar came home on break and it was perfect timing with our birthday weekend. He did some shopping at the recently opened Nordstrom Rack, about 5 minutes away, and William wanted to test out some of his new shoes.
Our pool fence was finally installed this weekend- yay! So here are Suz and W enjoying part of the backyard and blowing some bubbles.
I think my parents maybe nesting along with me, because they were going to help me out by spraying down the outdoor furniture so I could go hang outside with William now that the fence is up, and they ended up giving the backyard a deep cleaning. William loved hanging outside with them and exploring some dirt. Although he doesn't like getting his hands dirty, so in the picture below he is patiently waiting for my Dad to notice his extended hand with dirt on it so it can be cleaned. I think my Mom is cleaning his hands in the picture right after that.
