These monthly photos are getting a bit more tricky to take. There's one below where he finally ripped the sticker off and wanted to chew on it. We'll see how the next couple of months go!
THIS MONTHS QUILT
My friend Kathys', mother-in-law made this adorable quilt for William. I was so touched to receive it, since it's a big tradition to gift them for important life milestones in their family. Kathy has some really beautiful ones that she received when she got married, and had baby MacKenzie early last year, and other events.
THE GOOZE
William has many nicknames, but the most common ones are Gooze, Goozie, the Goozer, Goozies and basically any derivative of the made up word Gooze. When he makes noises (aka talks), they sound like Goo-Goo's. It started pretty early on, so that kind of stuck with us.
WILLIAM'S FIRST CHRISTMAS
Well, his first Christmas wasn't exactly ideal. It was the first time he got sick, actually the three of us were sick :( But, he still managed to have a good time...poor little guy.
We started off on Christmas eve with getting some of Grandma and Grandpa Pounds' presents out, and under the Christmas tree. William was pretty entertained with that alone:)
Looking Handsome on his car ride to the Fazes house for Christmas Eve dinner!
Couple Pic's of him on Christmas Eve, not many because he goes to bed early and Christmas dinner is sometimes a bit late. These turned out pretty cute!
Hanging out in a more comfortable outfit, playing with Auntie Andrea
These little musical toys are some of William's favorites, especially the guitar- he loves it!
Hanging out with Andrea while Garrett and I got our sick selves to start packing to head home. Took a while, but Andrea was giving William belly rubs and he loved it. He even giggled for her:)
When we got home, we opened presents that were waiting for him under the tree. BTW- this adorable sweater outfit was a Christmas present from My parents. I know I biased, but I just wanted to eat him up in it!
Grandma Doris and Grandpa Rich got William this adorable lion towel with his name on the back. They also got him the toy he's upset about not being able to reach.
Loves these cloth books, thanks Doris!![]() |

Worn out from all the present opening! Tough job!
LOVES GRABBING HIS LITTLE TOES, AND ON OCCASION...SUCKING ON THEM TOO
TEETHING- first two teeth are here!
William has been teething this month, and as of two days ago I officially felt two bottom teeth poking through. Poor guy has two coming in at the same time! Explains the pics below :(

His little mouth got red from all the rubbing :(
TRIP TO CARMEL AND MONTEREY
We decided to go on a little trip on new years day just for the night, to enjoy the nice weather on the coast. I was hoping to get some cute pics of William on the beach, but it just didn't work out. Oh well, guess we'll have to go to a beach again soon ;)

Having a god time with Grandpa Mohamed during Breakfast
Garrett and I grabbed lunch on the water, and William was nice enough to sleep all through lunch for us :)
FAMILY TIME
Hanging out at The Figueroa House watching the Niner game. William loved watching the balls on the pool table rolling around while Uncle Jose Carlos held him :)
NOT HAPPY WITH MOMMY
I had to go to some work meetings in Lake Tahoe and stay overnight, so William stayed with my parents. Actually, it worked out and Garrett was able to be there too, so it wasn't too bad. When I returned he was really happy to see me, and then he gave me the cold shoulder for a good two hours. I would literally turn him towards me, and he would turn his face and whole body to not have to look at me. Ouch
WILLIAM'S FIRST SWING RIDES
To make up for the meetings, I took William to the adorable park by my parents' house, which is where our pregnancy and Christmas photos were taken. It's also where I've already reserved his
first birthday party, so if you're reading this and would like to mark your calendars, feel free. It's going to be on June 21st, his actual birthday- invites to follow:) The only thing he can really enjoy as of now, are the baby swings. He really likes them though.
We went back on MLK weekend, so Garrett could see him in action:
GOOD HAIR DAYS
OUTGROWING SOME OF HIS FAVORITES
Baby W has now graduated to Level 2 on the jump a roo. We had to raise it now that he's grown a bit. He kept using his tippy toes until he figured it out.
Still interested in the jungle gym, but not for long periods of time. He can pretty much dominate it in every way, so I don't even set it on top of the play mat anymore. It's entertaining to watch.
Sporting his new pair of shoes:)
Crawling/ scooting (?) up a storm
Playing with Daddy!
THINGS HE LOVES
Dancing to almost any song with a catchy tune, itsy bitsy spider, five little monkeys, etc. Kicking his bath time turtle thermometer and splashing in general.
Watching Mickey Mouse club (only allowed in the morning), playing peek-a-boo, chatting and trying to grab Mommy's cell phone, laptop, remote and giant water bottle.
All solid foods so far...knock on wood.
Also loves books, has many favorites, and as you saw above -loves to chew on them too.
DISLIKES
iron vitamins (I would too, they smell like burnt plastic. If any of you mommies reading this have any alternatives, PLEASE let me know. It's painful to give these to him :(
Suctioning his little boogies. Some friends of ours recommended this suction device called the Nosefrida as an alternative to the bulb, and I have to say I'm a big fan! When William got sick during Christmas the suction bulb the hospital gave us was almost irritating him more, and therefor causing additional inflammation to his little nose, on top of his cold. This suction, in theory sounds disgusting, but it works great. William hated both, but this one was at least worth it!
LASTLY SOME SUPER SHORT VIDEOS

Happy to see Mickey Mouse Club in the Morning
